Starved, for Attention

I can’t release those SNAP funds, as much as I may wanna;
I don’t have the authority. It all depends upon a
choice by Democrats to pass what politicians call a “CR” –
and once they cave and say they’ll do that, then we’ll see where we are.

The good news comes from Walmart, it offers a slight glimmer;
Thanksgiving’s meal is cheaper – though the pickings will be slimmer.
No onions, sweet potatoes, muffin mix, or pecan pie.
Just use a smaller plate, since there is less than meets the eye.

While judges keep on saying that these SNAP funds must be freed,
I’m fighting those decisions, which means people in great need
will not have food enough for supper. But, I guess, they can eat cake –
even those who voted for me. They can chew on their mistake.
