Delivering poetic justice during the Trump years.

I was a little bit sarcastic when I said I’d end the war
that’s taking place there in Ukraine; once I began my intervening
I would have it solved within a span of hours (twenty-four).
As for “sarcasm” – it’s clear I do not understand its meaning.

Let’s look up the definition: use of language that’s satirical;
words to hurt somebody’s feelings that are caustic, cutting, bitter.

And so when I made a claim that I could guarantee this miracle,
my pronouncement was inane and should have been tossed in the shitter.

I sure made a lot of promises throughout the campaign season,
how I’d quickly solve all problems and restore us to times golden –
but it seems that I was kidding. Why’d I do that? Here’s the reason:
I’d say anything to win; to truth I don’t feel I’m beholden.

I’m dismantling the government on which we’ve all depended,
while I claim to be omnipotent while breaking up alliances.
Undermining the economy; civil rights have been suspended;
calling climate change a “hoax” while casting doubt on what the science is.

What I have done is make clear that I’m exacting retribution
against all who ever wronged me; punishment is my desire.
To the Oval Office please wheel in the U.S. Constitution –
so that I can take a last look before setting it on fire.
