Delivering poetic justice during the Trump years.

Although the Lord God saved my life (believe me, God – I’m grateful!),
that Radical Left Bishop gave a message I found hateful.
It’s bad enough to have to go to church; what’s even worse, see,
is being told, in God’s name, that I now should show some mercy.

I didn’t find her smart, and she was not the least compelling –
and neither I nor JD Vance would buy what she was selling.
The service was quite boring and not in the least inspiring;
I think she should be fired! (I hear McDonald’s may be hiring…)

She tried to make the case that LGBTQ are scared,
a message for which I was not a teensy bit prepared.
She also spoke of immigrants and said most were good neighbors,
and if they were deported – then who else would do their labors?

She mixed up church and politics, which I found most ungracious.
My comeback to her sermon was (ironically) hellacious.
I don’t care if you’re Jewish, Buddhist, Mormon, or Episcopal –
God saved ME, not those others. There’s my sermon (egotistical).
