Justices Alito and Thomas
A seat on the SCOTUS? The gig of our lives!
It’s all been smooth sailing – except for our wives.
To be a top judge means to give all that’s in ya’.
So, please, dial it back, Martha-Ann and Virginia.
Alito here: my wife got into a scuffle
with neighbors and then, in an ill-thought kerfuffle,
took our U.S. flag off the pole and inverted it,
meaning – as flag protocol goes – she’d skirted it.
Upside-down flags have been used to connote
that, from Trump, the establishment’s stolen our votes.
All abuse of the flag truly crosses a hard line –
unless, like my wife, you object to a yard sign.
I can relate, Sam! You know my wife, Ginni –
she stood up for Trump at the moment wherein he
proclaimed the election should be overturned.
Which, since I’m on the SCOTUS, has caused great concern.
Ginni’s described as a bit of an activist.
Conflict of interest? The Dems say it smacked of this.
From all Trump’s immunity claims, my recusal’s
been called for – and met with bullheaded refusal.
Our wives have the right to express an opinion.
The law of the land, o’er which we have dominion,
will still be upheld as the two of us learned it –
except when our better halves cry, “Overturn it!”
