The SCOTUS, it appears, has given notice:
Bumping Trump from state ballots doesn’t tickle most palates.

Gorsuch – a skeptic, seemed almost dyspeptic
Kavanaugh – message from that man’s eyes sent concern with disenfranchisement
Roberts – his questioning line: how’s “insurrection” defined?
Jackson – Donald’s solicitor seemed to elicit her sympathy
Barrett – fear of negate all; just doesn’t seem like a state call
Thomas – wondered whether a Confederate plethora had any relevance
Kagan – endless insurrection debate will just complicate
Sotomayor – alone in thinking examples of self-execution were in ample distribution
Alito – well… we know which way he’d go.

Whether it turns out 7-to-2, or 8-to-1 – Colorado’s attorney didn’t have much fun;
he clerked for two Justices, both of whom distrusted his arguments.

For Trump’s foes, this may seem bleak – but he may be rebuffed on immunity by the same Court next week.
